Seats, tables & counters – Number of disability-friendly seats, tables, and counters, the height of seats/tables/counters, space provided to maneuver wheelchairs, knee & leg clearances under the table, provision of easy-to-use crockery, cutlery, and glasses.
Rooms – Number of rooms allocated to differently-abled guests, dispersion of accessible rooms in different classes of rooms, dimensions of the room, height-adjustable installations, presence of wheelchair lifts, safety rails & panic buttons, handicap-friendly bedroom, bathroom, toilet & kitchen design, easy-to-use handsets for AC and TV, instruction manual & menu book in braille, safety bars on balcony railings and ramps & grab bars for standing/sitting.
Restroom – Number of accessible restrooms, height and width of the toilet, space inside each cubicle, height level of toilet paper holders, sinks, faucets, soap dispensers, hand dryers, towel holders & hygiene products dispensers, braille signage, and safety bars & handrail location.
These considerations are just the tip of the iceberg. The ADA Design Standards have numerous specifications (with prescribed dimensions) and you’ll have to meet these to make your hotel/resort accessible.
Our number one priority at Apertum Access is to ensure you aren’t affected by any accident/injury claims by differently-abled guests. We help you make provisions for all those disability-friendly requirements that can help you run your hospitality business without trouble.
